Gravitilab Aerospace Services is based in Norfolk and is a New Space start-up developing commercial services offering access to microgravity and space environments. The primary launch vehicle is ISAAC; a high-performance suborbital LV with capabilities not seen in the incumbent suborbital market.

Role Description

The successful candidate will play a key role in test site setup, Blending and casting of paraffin fuel grain, plumbing of the Propellant feed system, development of the test stand, and assisting in the static fire testing campaign. The candidate should be a team player with a self-starter mentality. The candidate should also be willing to relocate for the job and travel during the launch campaign if the company requires it.

  • Assisting with the setup and operation of paraffin blending and casting equipment.
  • Responsible for assembly and integration of propellant feed system.
  • Assisting with the cold flow tests, ignition tests, and static fire testing campaign.
  • Assembly and integration of the rocket’s propellant delivery system.
  • Maintenance of the test site and fuel casting equipment.
  • Assembly of the combustion chamber.
  • Assisting with the launch activities.
  • Assembly and integration of propellant feed system in launch campaigns.

Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience working with fluid systems

  • Experience in a workshop environment
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals
  • Experience working with cryogenic systems desired, not required
  • Experience working with rocket engine testing desired, not required

Qualifications

  • HND or apprenticeship in a related field desired, not required
